NESTORE® Video Platform the global solution for medium and large security projects.
The 5th Generation of PKE Video Management provides a New Video Platform called nestore®, whose technology is completely different from previous global VMS concepts. nestore® is an easy-to-install service designed for Windows operating systems that initially provides for the reception, routing and storage of video data. Contrary to previous rigid server concepts in video systems, nestore® offers a powerful and highly available cloud system that distributes itself as an easy-to-maintain entity in the deployed IT infrastructure.

Cloud Technology
The nestore® servers are no longer tied to a hardware and its limitations, but work as a dynamically growing system on the existing resources. The number of channels of the server is not limited and can be extended at any time during operation by providing additional resources. This concept enables the operation of thousands of video sources with very little maintenance.
High Availability
In the event of a resource outage, the nestore® server automatically distributes the video sources to the remaining systems in the shortest possible time, ensuring backup operation without additional components. The availability of the nestore® server can thus be directly increased by using additional resources.
Already the use of a second hardware means an operation with complete backup functionality. The computational availability often required in IT environments, specified in decimal places of 99 percent, can thus be implemented directly by additional nestore® instances, which means that downtime can practically no longer occur.
Each resource of a nestore® server has its own database and a manager that can manage and monitor the entire system. The resources communicate with each other via a master that provides communication to the outside and balance the entire configuration of the nestore® infrastructure with each other. This concept avoids a single-point-of-failure that could lead to operational limitations if one component fails.
More Efficient
The performance of the nestore® servers has been increased considerably compared to the classic server technologies. Server hardware supports up to 256 video
channels, each with up to 4 differently configured video streams.
A newly developed interface to the video sources significantly speeds up the times to fully power up the video servers as well as take over configuration changes of the video channels.
If a server component fails, its video sources are distributed to the remaining servers within 2 seconds. An additional option makes it possible to operate sources
individually, redundantly and practically without interruption, and to create them simultaneously on two servers. The redundancy records only in a ring buffer, as long as the main server is running properly. Another option organizes the redundant video sources simultaneously on servers that are located in different locations.
The flexibility and performance of the nestore® servers is greatly enhanced by the use of shared storage systems such as NAS, SAN or the new Microsoft server technology Storage Spaces Direct.
IT Environments
The nestore® resources can also be provided in mixed mode by physical servers, virtual machines or containers such as Docker, and are also optimally adapted for operation in cloud environments such as Microsoft Azure and Amazon AWS.
Each resource is individually adjustable in terms of performance limits, facilitating the migration of legacy systems. Depending on the performance limits, the nestore® server automatically distributes the configured video sources to the individual resources.
Outsourcing to tape and the cloud
Outsourcing offers a particularly flexible concept for costeffective long-term recording with simultaneous full access to the video data. When paging all or only a special priority associated video data after an adjustable storage time on a second, usually slow, medium (Tiered Storage) transferred. The direct access to the video data via the workstations is still preserved, but may be delayed due to the technology. The swap also supports up to 1 PByte per video stream from a video source.
In addition to operating a second disk system and NAS storage, LTO tape drives and changers and cloud storage are supported through Microsoft Azure and Amazon AWS. With disk storage systems, the video data is accessed directly from the media without delay, while for tapes and cloud infrastructures, the paged data is automatically retrieved to a cache whenever needed.
The outsourcing of the video data can also be done in a so-called unmanaged operation without direct access. Here, the video data are moved to a second medium and are available immediately for public access in a standard format.
Multi Client Capability
The nestore® servers can be assigned to different organizations, domains and locations, which enables a graded and data-secure distribution of resources within
the IT infrastructure. Video sources and data are bound to one domain and are only managed in this externally secured zone.
PByte Storage
The four streams of video channels are individually set up for recording even on separate storage systems and with different storage times and sizes up to 1 PByte (= 1024 TByte) per stream. The number of tracks is unlimited, allowing for event-driven records over years. Pre- and postalarm times of the recordings can be set as desired.
peri.bridge® the Gateway to the Cloud
The peri.bridge® is a special application of the nestore® server for transferring the local security technology to the cloud. Video sources that do not directly support the peri.cloud® protocol are transferred to the peri.cloud infrastructure via a highly encrypted and controlled connection.
The peri.bridge® directly supports hundreds of cameras and encoders from all well-known manufacturers. The booking of the components for the customer can take place within the peri.bridge® facility.
Overview
- Operation of cameras and encoders in the cloud
- Interfaces to all well-known manufacturers
- Direct login to the peri.cloud
- Extension to IoT and building technology
- Resource-saving even for micro-PCs
- Scalable for an unlimited number of channels
- Simple backup operation
- Optional second way operation
- Support for redundant data centers

IoT and Building Technology
In addition to video surveillance, peri.bridge® will in future be expanded to include building technology interfaces (OPC UA / DA / A & E, BACnet) and IoT (MQTT) and will fulfill the function of a local communication server with cloud transmission. Here we use our many years of experience in interface technology to integrate fire and burglar alarm systems, access control systems and other professional building services systems. These become part of a professional security as a service solution for enterprise customers.
High Availability
An outstanding feature of the peri.bridge® and peri.cloud® technology is the high availability of the solution. Already the use of a second instance of the software in the network leads to a backup operation without any configuration effort. It also supports secondary routes, such as through LTE, and back-up data centers for maximum availability. These measures are intended in particular for the use of the cloud in critical infrastructures.
Conserving Resources
The peri.bridge® software is particularly resource-saving and can transfer up to 16 video sources to the cloud on small systems of the 100.00 Euro class at the same time or as a service on a dedicated server virtual environments with up to 256 channels per instance. The maximum number of sources is The transmission can also combine local monitoring with a cloud solution for parallel operation as a hybrid solution. not limited by a simple scaling of the peri.bridge®.
Configuration and Maintenance
The configuration and maintenance of the peri.bridge® can be done locally or, especially for large structures, centrally via the tools of video management.
Data Protection and Data Safety
The peri.bridge® meets all legal requirements regarding data protection and data security. Video and data connections are highly encrypted and secured by certificates in accordance with BSI guidelines.
